A Film Friendly Texas certification means Mesquite is ready to handle any filming request -- from commercials to TV shows to major motion pictures.
As of June 3, 2020 media production is an allowable business sector as outlined in the Governor's Open Texas Plan, provided that productions can adhere to and comply with state-recommended safety guidelines and the minimum standard protocols as outlined by the Open Texas Media Production Checklist.
As the media production industries of Texas begin to incrementally reopen, the Mesquite CVB encourages all productions interested in filming in the community to review the Open Texas Media Production Checklist and register with the Texas Film Commission using the Texas Production Registration Form.

Please note --if you are using private property and are not requesting City services, you do not need to complete this permit application. Please allow five business days to process the application.
